Growth doesn't always look impressive.
Sometimes it's so small that you're tempted to believe nothing is changing.
You paused before reacting.
You recognized the old thought before believing it.
You maintained a boundary that once would have collapsed.
You prayed before trying to control the outcome.
You made one different decision.
Those things count.
We often measure progress by dramatic transformation, but much of spiritual growth happens through small acts of obedience repeated over time.
Don't dismiss a small step simply because it wasn't a giant leap.
A different response means something is changing.
A new choice means you're practicing another way.
A moment of recognition means you're no longer operating entirely on autopilot.
Integration takes practice.
You'll have moments when the new way feels natural and others when the old pattern feels much easier.
Keep going.
God can use ordinary acts of obedience to establish something that eventually becomes part of how you live.
You don't need perfection as evidence that you're growing.
Look for direction.
Are you increasingly moving toward truth?
Are you increasingly choosing obedience?
Then progress is happening.
Truth To Carry Forward:
Small steps in the right direction are still steps. Don't overlook the growth happening through ordinary obedience.
