Biblical Encouragement For The Season You’re Walking Through

Surrender often begins by recognizing what we're gripping.

Sometimes it is a relationship. A desired outcome. A timeline. A plan. An expectation. Sometimes it is simply our need to know what is going to happen next.

Control can be difficult to recognize because it often disguises itself as responsibility.

We tell ourselves we're being careful, prepared, or wise. And sometimes we are. But there is a difference between faithfully handling what God has given us to do and trying to control what belongs to Him.

Ask yourself:

What am I afraid will happen if I stop trying to control this?

That question can reveal what you're really holding.

Maybe you're afraid God won't handle the situation the way you want Him to. Maybe you're afraid His timing will be different from yours. Maybe letting go feels like doing nothing.

But surrender isn't doing nothing.

Surrender is releasing your demand to control the outcome while remaining obedient to whatever God has actually asked you to do.

You can loosen your grip.

You don't have to know how everything will turn out before you trust the One who does.

Truth To Carry Forward:
Surrender begins when we recognize what we're holding and become willing to place it in God's hands.
