Trying to control everything has a cost.
One of the most common costs is anxiety.
When you believe it's your responsibility to keep everything from going wrong, your mind never gets to rest.
You monitor.
You anticipate.
You replay.
You prepare for possibilities that haven't happened.
And when something moves outside the boundaries you've carefully created, anxiety rises because your sense of safety depended upon maintaining control.
The problem isn't that you care.
The problem comes when you assume responsibility for things God never placed under your authority.
Other people's decisions.
Tomorrow's circumstances.
Every possible outcome.
Whether someone understands you.
Whether your plan works exactly as expected.
Those things can matter deeply without becoming yours to control.
Surrender allows you to distinguish between what God has asked you to do and what you have appointed yourself to manage.
Do what belongs to you faithfully.
Then release what doesn't.
You may discover that some of the weight you've been carrying was never yours in the first place.
Truth To Carry Forward:
Control increases the weight you carry. Surrender returns that weight to the One who can actually carry it.
