There are seasons when the systems you've depended upon simply stop working.
The coping mechanism no longer numbs the pain.
People-pleasing no longer keeps everyone happy.
Avoidance no longer prevents conflict.
Control no longer produces security.
These relationship patterns produce the same painful result.
The belief that once helped you make sense of things begins falling apart under the weight of truth.
It can feel like failure.
But sometimes what is failing needed to fail.
An unhealthy system becoming ineffective creates an opportunity to stop repairing it and begin asking whether God wants to replace it.
That can be frightening because even unhealthy patterns can feel safe when they're familiar.
You know how they work.
You know what to expect.
And something new requires trust.
Don't assume the goal is to make the old system functional again.
Bring it before God.
Ask Him what needs to end, what needs to change, and what truth needs to become the foundation for something different.
Truth To Carry Forward:
When an old way stops working, it may be time to stop repairing it and allow God to teach you a new way.
